2017: Vassar & Christies Talks: New York

Loving Art joined other art lovers for an art-packed trip to New York in April 0f 2017 to attend the opening of In the Light of Naples: The Art of Francesco de Mura at Vassar College's Frances Loeb Art Center. Great opening at Vassar, then traveled to the City and joined friends for a week of museum-hopping and theatre. Great fun: Arthur spoke at Christie's on April 25 ... loved introducing New Yorkers to the great Golden Age master.

 

U.S. Exhibition Tour 2016-17 The Italians are Coming!

Don't miss this historic exhibition featuring one of Italy's finest Baroque painters,  In the Light of Naples: The Art of Francesco de Mura  guest curated by Arthur Blumenthal. The show, organized by the Cornell Fine Arts Museum at Rollins College in Winter Park, FL, opens September 16, 2016 then travels to the Chazen Museum of Art at the University of Wisconsin and Vassar College's Loeb Art Center.  Featuring loans from major Italian museums and masterpieces from the Art Institute of Chicago, the Metropolitan Museum of Art, and others, this exhibition honors the loss of one-third of De Mura's works in the World War II Allied bombing of the abbey at Monte Cassino, Italy.
